Player Guide 7 steps

How TrenchLeague Works

This is the normal player journey through a season, from signing in to wrapping up league play. Think of it as the practical version of “what do I do next?”

1

Sign In with Steam

Start by signing in with your Steam account. Steam handles the authentication directly, so your Steam credentials never touch TrenchLeague servers.

  • Use the Steam login button to connect your account.
  • Your TrenchLeague profile is tied to that Steam identity.
  • Once you are signed in, the rest of the league tools open up.
2

Join a Team or Create One

Next, get yourself onto a roster. You can either create a new team and become its captain, or request to join a team that already exists.

Creating a Team
  • Open Teams and choose Create Team.
  • Fill in the team info and upload a logo.
  • You become the team captain after creation.
Joining a Team
  • Browse the list of teams and open the one you want.
  • Click Request to Join.
  • The captain can accept or reject your request.
3

Register for the Current Season

Once your roster is set, your captain registers the team for the active season. After registration, teams are placed into groups and the league schedule starts to take shape.

  • Registration happens from the team page.
  • Teams are randomized into a group after registration closes.
  • Series are seeded against the other teams in that group.
4

Schedule Each Series

Captains coordinate with each opponent to make sure every series gets played inside the group-stage window. The built-in scheduling tools are how you propose and confirm match times.

  • Use the series page to propose a start time.
  • Give the opposing captain time to accept or reject it.
  • Make sure your timezone is correct on your player profile so times display correctly.
5

Create the Lobby and Play

When both teams agree on a time, return to the series page shortly before game one. That is where captains create the lobby and share the lobby details with players.

  • Use the Create Lobby button on the series page.
  • The site generates the lobby name and password.
  • If something goes wrong, captains can cancel and recreate the lobby.
6

Report Results After Each Game

After every game, one or both captains should submit the result from the series page. Screenshots and accurate match details help the admin team approve results quickly.

  • Capture a scoreboard screenshot after the game ends.
  • Upload the result with the match ID and approximate game start time.
  • Standings update after admins approve the submission.
7

Finish the Season and Repeat

Once group play ends, top teams may advance into a bracket depending on league size. After the season wraps up, the cycle begins again with the next season.

  • Top teams can move into playoffs or an elimination bracket.
  • The bracket determines the season winner.
  • For most players, the loop is simple: team up, register, schedule, play, report, repeat.
